The 5 days safari will take you to Uganda’s most known destination –Bwindi Impenetrable national which is a natural habitat of Mountain Gorillas in Uganda. The 5 days safari will then connect you to Uganda’s Jinji town-dubbed adventure Capital City of Uganda. The highly adventurous safari will begin and end in Kampala-the Capital City of Uganda.

5 Days Jinja Bungee Jumping & Gorilla Trekking Safari in Uganda Highlights:

Day 1: Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park.

Day 1: Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park.

In the morning, you will meet and greet our driver guide in your Kampala place of stay and embark on the transfer drive of 530kms about 9-10 hours’ drive to the southwest part of Uganda. The journey to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park will take you through Mpambire Drum shop in Impigi and the Uganda Equator crossing Kayabwe, where you will have stopover for marvelous water experiments and amazing photo shots. After the wonderful stop over at the Equator, you will continue with highly rewarding drive through the farmed hill sides and the urban environments of Masaka to Igongo. You will have stop at Igongo cultural center situated just 12kms to Mbarara town for Ugandan traditional lunch. The delicious meal served at Kahwa Kanuzire restaurant in Igongo will give you a real taste of Ugandan traditional cuisine. After Lunch, you will proceed through a breath-taking scenic view popularly known as the “Switzerland of Africa” to the Bwindi Impenetrable National park. On arrival to the park,you will drive direct to your lodge to check-in, have dinner and overnight.

Day 2: Do Gorilla trekking and Evening Cultural encounter with the Local Batwa

After your early morning hefty breakfast, your driver guide will transfer you with your packed lunch, bottled water, to the Park head Quarters in your respective gorilla trekking region for an early morning  briefing at  regarding the dos and don’ts of  gorilla trekking in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest. While at the park headquarters, you will meet other trekkers and you will be divided into groups of eight individuals who are only allowed to trek one specific habituated Gorilla family. After briefing, UWA experienced ranger guide will lead you to the trail heads where thrilling gorilla trekking experience starts from. You will entre in the ancient, thick dark impenetrable forest to begin hiking the hills and slopping the valleys when looking for the unique species of the mountain gorillas inhabited in the famous Bwindi Impenetrable Forest. The trek can take you between 2-8 hours to meet face to face with the mountain gorillas and once up close, you will be allowed to spend one magical hour with these stunning apes. During this time you can decide to sit down listen to gorilla crumble, study how these apes go about their daily activities and you can take as many photos as possible. When the one hour is done, you will walk back to the park headquarters and retire back to your lodge for late Lunch, relaxation. After relaxation, you will be driven to the nearby Batwa community for memorable, refreshing cultural encounter.  Here you will be guided by a local guide who will take you to the different communities to see how people have managed to survive through farming.  You will see how local brew is processed from fresh Bananas and forest remedies to get beer and Waragi and also enjoy the performances done by the local Batwa women groups. After that interesting cultural encounter, you will drive back to your respective lodge for dinner and overnight. Thereafter the activity, you will retreat back to your lodge for dinner, memory sharing and overnight.

Day 3: Transfer from Bwindi Impenetrable National park to Kampala

After an early morning breakfast, you will embark on drive transfer from Bwindi Impenetrable National Park to Kampala drive distance of 530 kilometers about 9-10 hours’ drive without stopovers. The long drive will take you through the impressive sceneries of south western Uganda dotted with local home steads and beautiful Ugandans. After coving distance of 199kms, you will have stopover for Traditional Lunch at Igongo Cultural Centre .On your way, you will by-pass Mpabire Drum makers in Mpigi and of course the Ugandan Equator, where you will have stopover for photo shot, water experiments and shop for a souvenir.  Thereafter, continue with the drive to Kampala. On arrival to Kampala, the driver guide will drive you direct to your lodge to check-in, have dinner and overnight.

Day 4: Transfer from Kampala to Jinja & enroute forest walk at Mabira Forest Reserve.

Following an early morning breakfast, depart Kampala driving along Kampala- Jinja highway 80km about 1-2 hours’ drive without enroute stopovers to Jinja. The drive journey to Jinja will take you through small townships of Mukono were you can also find Ssezibwa falls one of the famous Buganda Heritage Sites where many natives flock for blessings, wealth, and fortunes. You will have stopover at Mabira Forest to explore the only forest reserve in Uganda with over 300 bird species as well as some endangered species of over 218 butterflies, monkeys, plants and 312 trees species. Thereafter, you will advance with the drive through Lugazi decorated with green tea, coffee and sugar plantations to Sunset Hotel in Jinja where you will have second stopover for lunch. After lunch, you take boat ride to the mighty source of the Nile which is tranquil place, dotted with beautiful tropical pants, palm trees and magnificent eye attracting white roaring water of the mighty Nile. As you stand on the Nile, you can hear the gurgling water, watch fishermen throwing their nets. Upon reaching the point where the source of the Nile originates, embark on taking wonderful photos for future memories; stand in the Nile while enjoying the views of different bird species including the King Fisher.

After the worthwhile experience, retreat back to the starting point and thereafter continue with the drive to Jinja town for city tour. The tour will expose you to different Indian styled structures which were used by many Indians before they were evicted by President Idi Amin Dada. You may also enjoy the sights of many shops located along the Jinja main road and you can decide to buy Ugandan Crafts in any of the craft shops in Jinja. Retreat back to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay after the city tour.

Day 5- Early Morning Bungee jumping and White-water Rafting on the Nile & transfer to Kampala

Following an early morning breakfast in your Jinja place of stay, embark on an adventurous 44m plunge into River Nile at Nile High Bungee. From a steel platform which soars above the cliffs which tower over the deep, fast-flowing river, you take your thrilling jump. The view from above is scary and of course you get the jitters but it is much safer than you would think. Afterwards, retire back to the lodge for lunch and relaxation. After lunch, embark on the day’s main adventure of white water rafting. Enjoy the most thrilling white water rafting at different grade stages. The white water rafting begins with a comprehensive briefing and the fitting of lifejackets and helmets. The rafting is done on a 10 kilometer stretch of the Nile River. The first few rapids are low grade (1, 2) and give clients a sense of confidence. As the river meanders through beautiful scenery, the rafts are guided into the mighty challenges of the best “grade 5” rapids on the Nile. Eight major rapids are rafted plus lower graded runs to maximize the adrenaline rush of this adventure. Return from the activity and embark on the transfer drive back to Kampala reaching late evening, before being transferred to Entebbe international airport for your flight back home.
