5 Days Congo Gorilla Trip features amazing sightseeing of the Rwandan hill sides, recreational boat transfers on Lake Kivu, Eastern Lowland Gorilla trekking in Kahuzi Biega National Park, Chimpanzee tour in Lwiro forest, Mount Kahuzi adventure hike and community tour with historical library exploration. The safari starts and ends in Kigali Rwanda.
Transfer after breakfast at your place of stay in Kigali driving 358km about 3 ½ hour’s drive to Gisenyi on the shores of Lake Kivu.
You enjoy the beautiful scenery of Rwandan Hillsides that earned the destination Rwanda a dub of the land of a thousand hills with good opportunities for photo shoots.
Upon reaching Gisenyi, you transfer by boat to Bukavu Congo. You enjoy the amazing Islands of Lake Kivu and its expanse water mass which is an experience of its own. You connect to the hotel and spend the remaining part of the day at leisure.

Wake up early in the morning for breakfast after which you gather at the starting point for the low land gorilla trekking in Kahuzi Biega National Park.
After the briefing by the park staff, you set off to the lush equatorial jungle and the Volcanoes in search of the Eastern Lowland Gorilla Sub species.
The trek through the forest lasts for about four (4) hours inclusive of one (1) magical hour with the Gorillas thriving in their natural habitats.
Unlike the Mountain Gorillas, the Eastern Lowland Gorillas are larger in size with gigantic hands, short muzzle and stocky body presenting a more exciting experience. Retreat from the activity and spend the rest of the day at leisure enjoying the lodge

Following breakfast, you connect to Lwiro Forest to undertake a three (3) hour walk for birding, nature experience and Chimpanzees.
You are in the company of the guide to offer a themed interpretation of the interesting features that you will come across along the way.
The sight of Chimpanzees as they forage and socialize is very fascinating and picturesque. From the activity, you connect back to Lake Kivu shores exploring the local communities and tour the library that dates far back to the Belgian Colonial times bringing out significant features of ancient Africa. Retire for overnight

This is dedicated for an adventure hike to mount Kahuzi one of the two Volcanic Mountains that comprise the Kahuzi Beiga National Park.
One hour transfer from Orchid Safari Lodge, you set off for the hike to the volcano in the company of a guide enjoying amazing sights of lush equatorial jungle of Congo which is the second largest in the world after Amazon, birds and a range of butterflies. The Mount Kahuzi climb (3,317m) lasts 4 – 7 hours after which you connect back to the lodge for relaxation and overnight

Following breakfast, you set off for the transfer back to Rwanda Kigali. A boat transfer will aid on Lake Kivu crossing and lunch can be enjoyed at the sandy beaches of Gisenyi after which you proceed to Kigali to mark the end of the tour
